Recap: Startup Grind Lansing Hosts Camron Gnass

We had another educational, inspirational, networking heavy event last Thursday!

Last Thursday was another awesome Startup Grind Lansing event! It was a great feeling driving up to the MSUFCU (thanks for hosting us!) building knowing it would be buzzing with entrepreneurs in 60 minutes.

Productive Networking

As one of the organizers I always worry about people having a good time networking. I try and personally greet everyone as they arrive. Unfortunately with an event of this size I miss a few people as they come in.

My worst fear is someone will feel awkward or unwelcome at the event. I'm thrilled to believe all the attendees have felt welcome. I have been thrilled at both of our events to see attendees engaged with each other. Everyone is connecting, talking, and building friendships. When I scan for people who aren't engaged I see the attendees connecting and smiling. It feels great. After our events I hear of people strengthening the friendships they built at Startup Grind connections with coffees and business meetings.

Education & Inspiration

Camron Gnass (Traction founder) did an awesome job as an interviewee. He put it all on the line, the good, the bad, and the pretty.

Here are some of the lessons Cam shared:

  • Started Traction with $300

  • Survived family difficulties

  • Extreme cash flow management

  • Overcame fraud

  • Has never had to lay off an employee
