Things Silicon Valley taught me (#1 is money)

Hey Buffalo, hope all is well and you are not buried under snow or frozen :) Yesterday was the first full day of #Startupgrind Global Conference in Silicon Valley and it has AWESOME. I wanted to share some of the things I learned so far.

1. It is all about the money! I have never met so many angel investors, VC's, and startups that have been funded. Investors are looking for the next crazy idea, and the amount of capital here seems amazing.

2. Entrepreneur is an international language.  Meeting people from all over the world (Startup Grind chapter directors from over 20 countries), and hearing their stories is incredible! Many face the same struggles, obstacles, and are coming up with the same solutions!

3. Opportunity can be created.  Biz Stone, the founder of Twitter, said that most people think opportunity is the collision of random circumstances, but Biz said that is incorrect. Opportunity can be made by creating the characteristics yourself and then taking advantage of them.

Overall, it has been great out here but I am looking to coming back to Buffalo and taking Startup Grind Buffalo to the next level!

PS- Shout out to Lloyds Taco’s!
