On August 22, Startup Grind San Diego welcomes social scientist James Fowler - Author of Connected: How Your Friends' Friends' Friends Affect Everything You Feel, Think, And Do.
During our fireside chat, we'll be discussing Fowler's book 'Connected', real-life social networks, and how they might influence startups and the relationships that exist between entrepreneurs.
Fowler is Professor of Medical Genetics in the School of Medicine and Professor of Political Science in the Division of Social Science at the University of California, San Diego. His research in the study of social networks, cooperation, and political participation has been highly acclaimed, notching him a spot on Foreign Policy's Top 100 Global Thinkers and an interview with Stephen Colbert. It doesn't hurt either, that The McLaughlin Group named him "most original thinker" of the year.
The EvoNexus incubator, located downtown at 101 West Broadway, has volunteered to host the event in their 2nd floor suite. From 6pm to 7pm there will be networking and pizza, followed by a fireside chat with featured guest, James Fowler from 7 to 8pm. The event will conclude with a question-and-answer session and more networking from 8 to 9pm.
