New Haven is rife with Startup talent, the ecosystem runs deep across both Biomedical and Engineering sectors with supporting systems from Co-Working Spaces, Clubs, Mentors, Incubators, Classes, even local Government initiatives are in place to give your Startup every resource possible for it's success. Startup Grind begins on January 21st 2015, hosting Dr. Kyle Jensen, Director of Entrepreneurial Programs and Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Yale School of Management. Dr. Jensen co-founded Agrivida, a venture-backed biotechnology company based in Boston; PriorSmart, a patent analytics provider (acquired by RPX, Nasdaq:RPXC); and Pit Rho, a leader in motorsport analytics. He works with numerous Yale start-ups, now as Director and previously as mentor and entrepreneur-in-residence at the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute. His academic research spans computational biology, intellectual property, and the sociology of science.
The first event will be held at The Grove, a Co-Working space encouraging and supporting people in their work and the development of the new ideas that are solving the social, environmental, economic, and urban problems we face today. The Grove is a dynamic community of social innovators, independents, artists, entrepreneurs, and thinkers that are the new face of New Haven.
This chapter will be directed by Adam Muniz, whom previously brought Startup Grind to Australia and directed Sydney beginning in 2012 when Startup Grind was only in 15 cities, today it is educating, inspiring and connecting entrepreneurs in 125 cities around the world.
