Omar is the Managing Director of PayFort, the leading online payment gateway in the Middle East. Prior to PayFort Omar successfully launched Souq.com in Egypt to become one of the top 30 most visited sites and the number one e-commerce site in Egypt. Prior to Souq.com Omar co-founded Accelarabia.com the first online loan origination website in the Middle East in late 2005 and sold the majority of the company to ORASCOM Development in 2006. Omar started his career in the US in various capacities in Banks to include consumer banking, business banking, International banking and commercial banking for Bank of America, California Bank and Trust and Sunwest Bank after studying Finance at California State University, Fullerton and obtaining a Financial Advisor Certification from the NASD. Omar completed his post-graduate studies at Stanford University Graduate School of Business with an emphasis in Innovation and design thinking.
