About this event

Founders Bios Tamer AlMasri and Michael Makdah “Meesh” met in high school and despite parting to different countries upon graduation their friendship continued and culminated in fostering a partnership built on the shared goal of building a creative and fun brand experience. Although he studied computer science, Meesh’s passion truly lies in marketing. He has a natural gift with people. His positive spirit is contagious and is showcased in Jo Bedu’s great marketing track record. An artist at heart, Tamer pursued a degree in international affairs with a focus on political economics. However it wasn’t long before his inner passion for the arts consumed him and realigned his goals to build a platform that celebrates the works of awesome creative Arabs. Together Meesh and Tamer combined their talents to fuse marketing and art to create Jo Bedu and attract both creative people and consumers to join the tribe and enjoy the beautiful Arab culture we live everyday. Corporate Bio Jo Bedu delivers modern Arab pop culture as it is portrayed through the different styles of creative Arab designers, illustrators, writers and artists on various products including t-shirts, hoodies and more. The brand came to life in 2007 when the founders produced 6 witty and funny designs on 600 t-shirts and sold them at Souq Jara Friday Market. After that great public reception Meesh and Tamer decided to take it a step further and produce private label apparel carrying the Jo Bedu brand name and have since produced over 115 designs for 30 designers from the region on100K t-shirts and a whole lot more. From the Friday Market Jo Bedu grew into two retail outlets in Amman in Jabal Weibdeh and Abdoun, an online store servicing the region and international markets, Virgin Amman, Kulyowm Queen Alia International Airport and Stache Concept Store in Saudi Arabia. Jo Bedu seeks to strengthen its reach through higher penetration in the GCC, North America, Australia and Europe. Jo Bedu is dedicated to giving back to the creative community through creating a alternative income stream for them by merchandising their talents for consumers to enjoy.
