About the event: The participants will explore digital marketing and incorporate the motivations, drivers, and impacts of food innovation to create effective marketing strategies and plans that support the sustainability of the agri-food industry. They will take the long-term view that includes multiple scales local, national, and global, envisioning different possibilities for the future of food. Leveraging the best communication and media to eliminate the old while promoting the new products, programs, and systems matters immensely in getting the population to adopt a sustainable food futures model. Participants will imagine, create, and promote the food futures they want for their startup's, their communities, and the world. Participants will also identify target audiences and needs, and develop authentic positioning, distribution, promotion and communications for sustainable agri-food systems. Main Objective: To examine the principles and practices of digital marketing in the Agrifood industry and marketing’s role in the creation and management of relationships with customers and other stakeholders. Area of focus: (i) Concepts of marketing to sustainable agriculture and food innovation (ii) Creative branding and market entry strategies (iii) Digital identities and profiling (iv) Value Addition, Quality Assurance and Standards (v) Principles to formulate pricing strategies Target Group: The workshop aims at inviting 150 smallholder farmers, Agrifood Startup's representatives, Agri-food experts, companies and organizations working in the Agrifood value chain, media and there will be invited guests from the regional commissioner's office dealing with food and agriculture sector.
