Thobekile is the founder and CEO of Mabotho Designs which produces high quality and luxury leather items. She graduated for a Diploma in Sports Management at the Durban University of Technology. After graduating, she worked for Adidas as a technical coordinator for 3 years. From there, she joined Sanlam as an events assistant, but later quit her job to pursue her ambition of owning a business and creating luxurious products that embrace women’s existence. She conceived the business of Mabotho Designs idea during a traditional ceremony to honor her late grandfather. Through this endeavor to have her own business and be a creative, she used her own savings and took a trip to the United States of America (USA), where she networked with fellow creatives and spent time studying global trends and fashion. To that effect, she has had an exhibition in New York that she believes opened many doors for her. Because of her passion to learn and be disciplined, she is currently pursuing a qualification in Business Administration & Management at the University of Pretoria. To-date, Thobekile’s business has exhibited in numerous international trade shows and is currently engaged in talks with prospective buyers from the United States. When she is not busy with leatherworks, Thobekile follows politics and is a patriot who values her culture a lot.
