Nick has a first in Electronics and Computing and after working at the semiconductor business Inmos, he co-founded Motion Media Technology which listed in 1996. Nick grew the SETsquared Bristol Centre to be ranked the world’s top university business incubator, in 2015, 2018 & 2019.

In 2013, Nick co-founded Engine Shed, a collaboration between Bristol University and Bristol City Council, to drive sustainable and inclusive growth. He handed that over to his successor 2019. Nick is now a National IoD Council member, freelance NED and strategic adviser and was awarded an MBE for services to the digital economy in 2019.
