Prior to serving as a Charlotte City Councilman and the Executive Director of the Carolina Fintech Hub, Tariq served as the Head of Innovation and Investment for FIS Global, a $9B+ fintech company. Tariq has built profitable businesses from scratch, designed and implemented global risk and cybersecurity programs, launched FinTech Accelerator programs, and completed over a dozen acquisitions. He has also held executive positions in Fortune 500 companies such as GE Capital, Wells Fargo, and Wachovia. Tariq is Serial FinTech entrepreneur who dares to imagine and implement the transformational possibilities of emerging technology. Tariq has been successful at managing the risk portfolio of institutions exceeding $1.2 trillion in assets during one of the most tumultuous financial markets in history.
