What if our farmers were paid fairly? What if the seafood caught and the blueberries grown in the Coffs region could bring in higher prices for our agricultural community? What if there were a better way to address food wastage along the supply chain? How are these things done in other countries using the latest innovations in technology? All these questions and more will be addressed by the upcoming Startup Grind Coffs Harbour guest speaker and global specialist in blockchain solution technology – the powerful record-keeping system that is transforming industry around the world. Genevieve Leveille, founder and CEO of AgriLedger, will demystify the term ‘blockchain technology’ and unlock its possibilities and opportunities for food producers in this region. Her talk will also present compelling real-life case studies in which these solutions have transformed the livelihoods and workflow of farmers. Genevieve, who is based in Jersey UK, has more than 23 years’ experience in supply chain finance and industry transformation. In 2016 she founded and led a hackathon team in the creation of the AgriLedger concept, a social enterprise project using distributed ledger technology and mobile apps for agricultural producers. The technology is closely aligned with the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, including responsible consumption and production, life on land and reduced inequality. Genevieve is a recognised international speaker and has considerable experience within all major international markets including China. She is co-chairman of the Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) Working Group, which provides strategic direction for more than 900 UK technology companies whose work is related to blockchain and DLT. She is also a senior advisor to various blockchain solution projects. Places are strictly limited.
