Giulio Vita is the founder of La Guarimba International Film Festival. He had a dream: bringing the cinema back to the people and the people back to the cinema. He studied Journalism in Venezuela and Filmmaking in Spain. In 2014 with Sara Fratini founded La Scuola Delle Scimmie: first independent school of cinema and illustration. An years ago he brought Vimeo for the first time in Europe.

About this event

Giulio Vita was born in Italy in 1988. He emigrated to Venezuela and studied Journalism. After studying Filmmaking in Spain he came back to Calabria (Italy) in 2012 to start and found La Guarimba International Film Festival that takes place in Amantea (CS) a small town of 15.000 inhabitants. With the dream of bringing the cinema back to the people and the people back to the cinema, an old open air cinema of 938 seats was repaired. In 2014 he founded alongside Sara Fratini La Scuola Delle Scimmie, the first independent school of cinema and illustration. An year ago he brought Vimeo for the first time in Europe, already TEDx speaker in 2016 he directed the project "Cinema Ambulante" to integrate refugees and local population. He is the artistic director of La Guarimba International Film Festival.
