Andrew is a first-time entrepreneur, and founded Smart Barn in response to problems on his dad’s farm in rural Ohio. Andrew grew up farming and has firsthand knowledge of the everyday challenges farmers face. Smart Barn wireless monitoring was designed and built in his garage, and currently provides an array of sensors monitoring temperature, power, feed, and water on over 60 farms in the US and Canada. Smart Barn was a 2nd place winner ($15,000) in The University of Dayton’s 2015 Business Plan Competition, and a 3rd place runner-up ($250,000), in Verizon’s 2015 Powerful Answers Award.
