In honor of Startup Grind’s female founders month, Startup Grind Greenwich is honored to be hosting GE’s Beth Comstock and former EY executive Deborah A. Bussière. Deborah will be interviewing Beth at the fireside chat – an event not to be missed! Beth Comstock, President & CEO, GE Business Innovations & Chief Marketing Officer, GE  Beth Comstock, President & CEO of GE’s newly formed Business Innovations unit, is keenly focused on accelerating growth from new businesses and those in transition, intensifying commercial impact and increasing brand value. GE Business Innovations includes GE Lighting, GE Ventures & Licensing, software commercialization and corporate marketing, sales and communication. Current priorities include accelerating the Industrial Internet, clean-energy and affordable-health offerings, and partnerships that enhance GE’s inventive culture and brand. Beth also serves as GE’s Chief Marketing Officer. Previously she served as President of Integrated Media at NBC Universal overseeing ad sales, marketing and research, and led the company’s digital media efforts, including early development of hulu.com, Peacock Equity, and acquiring ivillage.com. In 2003, she was named GE’s first Chief Marketing officer in more than 20 years. Previously, she held a succession of roles at GE, NBC, CBS and Turner Broadcasting. Beth is a member of Nike’s Board of Directors and Trustee president of the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. She serves on the board of Quirky, a GE partner for smart consumer products. Beth graduated from the College of William and Mary with a degree in biology.   Deborah A. Bussière, Former Chief Marketing Officer at EY   Deborah A. Bussière is a global Operations, Marketing and Business Development C-level Executive. Following a successful 15-year career on Wall Street and 10 exceptional years in consulting and professional services, Deborah embarked on a self-imposed professional gap year and is now ready for her next great adventure. For this next chapter, Deborah is seeking an entrepreneurial environment where she can roll up her sleeves in a leadership position and truly make a difference – both to the company mission and to the bottom line. She seeks to be inspired by the people with who she works with and for, and to likewise inspire them as well as have some fun everyday while doing some good in the world. Most recently, Deborah served as Chief Marketing Officer for EY (formerly, Ernst & Young, LLP), fulfilling a key role in directing strategy, vision and execution for all marketing, communications, digital/social media, PR and client events functions across the Americas. Between September 2003 and January 2011, Deborah held several, simultaneous, senior roles at EY. Prior to joining EY, Deborah was a Founding Member and Director of Marketing and Sales for UBS's start-up Alternative Investments Group, reporting to the firm’s Chairman and CEO. Previously, she spent nearly 10 years with Morgan Stanley in a variety of senior management, sales and marketing leadership roles within the Managed Futures and Precious Metals division. Deborah earned a B.S. in Business/Marketing from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, which included a semester at the National University of Singapore. She also completed one year towards her M.B.A. in Finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
