One of the emerging technologies that received a lot of traction in the past decade is the autonomous vehicle or AV. There are more than 50 companies globally in this space, and they have built a standalone ecosystem by itself. From big tech giants like Google, Apple, Alibaba, to car manufacturers like Volvo, BMW, Honda, they all invested billions of dollars creating a fully autonomous vehicle without human intervention. This future is not far from reality, and it is expected to grow rapidly in the next five years. This technology provides limitless opportunities that create a positive impact on society and the environment – especially on the topic of sustainable transportation. However, it also causes a downside, especially to the individuals who are displaced due to automation. These are not just drivers but also other businesses that rely heavily on the transportation industry. In this webinar, we will explore how autonomous vehicle technology will shape the future of work. The Hult Emerging Technology Club of San Francisco & SG HULT has assembled a strong line up of speakers to answer these questions: What are the infrastructure changes needed to support San Francisco City’s vision for sustainable transportation? What challenges do you see arising from how technology will evolve to support this transformation? What are the governance, security, and ethical considerations? What dynamics companies are experiencing in across a smart transportation industry? How do you imagine the future of autonomous vehicles will affect society, businesses, and the future of work? How will the AV industry change post Covid-19?
