Jamie Yacoubian is a Scottish entrepreneur looking to develop his skills while in San Francisco. In the past two years, he has launched 2 gaming companies, the first of which, perhaps predictably bombed (hoping not to repeat, but it was a fantastic if painful learning curve) His newest company, Handprint Games, has recently launched its first game, Punch Perfect, and he is excited about the launch of further original IP mobile games.
Jamie started his professional life as an accountant, working as an auditor with PWC. After completing their illustrious internship program he joined as a graduate auditor. Although he learned more than he thought was possible, he quickly realized that his true passion was entrepreneurship. So, he quit pursuing his dream (well, a leave of absence was negotiated, but quitting sounds cooler).
Now, he is interning with a Silicon Valley startup-up CarVi, working in marketing and growth, gaining experience in a start-up that is ⅔ years ahead of his own company. It has been an invaluable experience, working in a small talented team across all areas of the business. As well as his central expertise in digital marketing he has worked on fundraising, product development, anything in fact that requires creative thinking as the business grows.
Jamie is passionate about the pursuit of knowledge and information. He is an avid reader of the current trends in business thinking which he feels, inspires his creative energy and productivity. He also loves the sunshine here in California - not something there is a lot of in Scotland, but to be honest it’s probably why the whiskey is so good. Slainj!
