Abel Ng’andu is the founder and Managing Director of Ng’andu Consulting Limited. Ng’andu Consulting is a leading engineering consultancy firm in Zambia with a turnover of more than US$15 million.
Abel, 43, is an entrepreneur who has led his firm to become an internationally recognised and award winning, multi–disciplinary civil engineering consultancy firm. Ng’andu Consulting is ranked among the top 5 and operates in Zambia, Rwanda and South Sudan with an engineering workforce of over 200.
In the last five years, Abel has presided over construction supervision of projects worth over US$500million in construction value. Recently he has spearheaded the formation of a subsidiary company called ALD Plant and Fleet Management with an initial investment of US$ 5million. ALD will be one of the few indigenously owned companies that will manufacture various construction materials. The plant will become operational by end of July 2015. Once fully operational, ALD will employ around 1,000 employees and turnover US$ 80million annually.
Abel holds a First Class Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India. He seats on numerous boards including Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ), Association of Consulting Engineers of Zambia (ASCEZ) and the Zambianisation Committee.
