About this event

Moses Nyama is the Managing Director and co-founder of Radio QFM, Zambia’s biggest private FM radio station covering 7 out of 10 provinces. Moses, 41, had a passion for media since completing secondary school at Chadiza Secondary. He applied for a job at ZNBC 3 times and was rejected. He got his first break in radio when he was employed by Radio Phoenix as a Station Presenter where he became famously known as the Mo-Funky Movements. Moses left Radio Phoenix to try his hand at entrepreneurship with his brothers and formed MAI Recording Studio. Together they applied for a Radio license that was initially rejected by the Minister who at the time stated that, ‘they were too young to handle an investment of that size’. They appealed the decision and were granted the license. Since launching QFM 14 years ago, Moses has obtained solid international education in Radio and TV Management from France and Germany and is passionate about continuously growing himself through professional development in business and marketing. And next quarter, you can look forward to Q-FM launching a TV station! In this fireside chat, Moses will share some his valuable lessons including rejection isn’t the end of the road you’re never too young to dream big and entrepreneurs take action in order to learn and don’t wait to learn in order to take action.
