Rocky Sombe is one of Zambia’s leading franchise business owners. He owns the Subway Kabulonga franchise and Signarama where he is managing director. Signarama is the largest full service sign franchise in the world.   An accountant by trade, Rocky was head of finance for African Banking Corporation and later moved to Microfin Africa Zambia Ltd where he was also head of finance. After working for many years in the financial sector, Rocky ventured full time into entrepreneurship and has mastered the franchise business in Zambia.   As a philanthropist, Rocky was elected president of the Zambian Rotary Club. At his Rotary induction ceremony, he showcased his Signarama franchise to many of Zambia’s business leaders and also raised money for two Zambian orphanages. At this Startup Grind event, Rocky will share how he made his transition from full time employment to full time entrepreneurship. He will also share his lessons on business success in Zambia.
