Carla has a strong history in startups, entrepreneurship, funding and operational management. She was the former CEO of Optimizer Invest, a family office VC based in Malta and was responsible for managing 24 portfolio companies with a value of over €1bn. Prior to that Carla was Managing Director for Betsson Group’s flagship brand Betsson.com and responsible for driving annual revenues into the triple digit millions during her time there.
Carla graduated from University of Malta with a BA in English and B.Communications, followed by an MA in Internet Communications from University Of Canberra (Australia). She is now also reading her MSc in Digital Currency at the University of Nicosia.

Steve is a senior executive management consultant, adviser, speaker and author. His research and consulting work focuses on the use of emerging technologies, and in particular Blockchain technologies, to improve business performance.
In 2016 Steve acted as a Strategic Adviser for the Ministry of Economy, Investment and Small Business (MEIB) of the Maltese Government to increase the country’s global competitiveness. He developed the vision of “Malta, the Blockchain Island” and authored Malta’s “National Blockchain Strategy,” which was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on April, 2017.
In 2017 Steve was appointed to Malta’s National Blockchain Task Force engaged to further advise the Government of Malta on developing and implementing the country’s blockchain strategy.
In 2017, he founded and was the first Chairman of the Blockchain Malta Association.
In 2018 Steve was listed in the "Lattice80 Blockchain 100" list of global Blockchain influencers (http://www.lattice80.com/lattice80-blockchain-100-report/).
Steve hold a “MIT Fintech Innovation: Future Commerce” certificate with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a “Blockchain Strategy” certificate with the Saïd Business School (Oxford University), and a MSc in “Software Project Management” with the University of Aberdeen.
David is a partner at Lewis Silkin, advising on the full range of corporate finance transactions, from seed and angel investment rounds to IPOs, sales and acquisitions. His clients are companies, founders, investors and financial institutions at every stage of that journey, and the advice he gives on each transaction benefits from that experience of the types of transactions that the business has been through, and is hoping to get to in the future.
Oliver is COO of GLOBIANCE, a next-generation cryptocurrency exchange going live in October. He founded his first IT Company in 1999, which was later sold to Gamigo AG in 2002. Following that, he worked as an independent IT service provider, managing numerous projects and worked for 8 years at Citibank as Teamleader of the external Server & Production Support Team.
As a CEO at Richmoore & Anderson Group, he took on other market sectors, such as app development, business consultation, and Cyber Security to expand the Group with Malta as the headquarters. This gave him the opportunity to build and expand strong business relationships with fellow entrepreneurs and business owners in Malta and overseas, with extensive experience working with companies that rely on efficient and reliable technology such as banks and gaming companies.
In 2017 he joined IDACB as Chairman of the Malta Chapter and since 2018 he is also President of the Government Blockchain Association, Malta Chapter.

Accelerator manager, mentor, strategist and mentor with +25 years of experience in highly dynamic, projectised environments. Before designing, implementing and internationalising Europe's first Government-backed accelerator focussing on Blockchain and other emerging technologies, YouStartIT, Alex has been a promoter of change and innovation at MITA, and covered various roles as strategic planner, project manager, consultant and business development manager. He has been a national representative on European Commission ICT R&I related Committees from 2009 to 2014, co-author of Malta’s National ICT Strategy 2014-2020 and now a leading promoter of the Maltese startup ecosystem.
