Carsten Franke, MBA
Born August 1967 in Hamburg, Germany
Carsten Franke is a Serial Entrepreneur and works professionally in Online Projects since 1993. He did his MBA in San Diego, CA in 1997 and worked for several Advertising Agencies as head of Online Departments until he founded his own after the Internet Bubble burst in 2001. He moved to Berlin and was working for Fortune 500 Companies in projects porting from SAP to Oracle and SEO, Social Media Marketing etc.
He did volontary work for several startup initiatives in Hamburg and Berlin evaluating Business Plans and provided Startup Seminars. He co-developed a startup related seminar series with Humbold University Berlin involving a psychological approach to creating successful business concepts and was supervising startups using public funds.
In Malta he founded a Company trading media rights in 2010 and just started a Company for creating multimedia Content for international affiliate marketing companies.
Accelerator manager and innovation consultant with +25 years of experience in highly dynamic, projectised environments. Before designing, implementing and internationalising Europe's first Government-backed accelerator focussing on Blockchain and other emerging technologies, YouStartIT, Alex has been a promoter of change and innovation at MITA, and covered various roles as strategic planner, project manager, consultant and business development manager. He has been a national representative on European Commission ICT R&I related Committees from 2009 to 2014, co-author of Malta’s National ICT Strategy 2014-2020 and now a leading promoter of the Maltese startup ecosystem.
Always ready to move out of his comfort zone, Alex has a passionate belief in empathy, analysis and research as key drivers in anything he does.
Specialties developed over the years in chronological order: business acceleration using Design Thinking and Lean Startup approaches; business mentoring and incubation; strategic planning and policy development; action research; business analysis; strategic client portfolio management; business development; proposal and contract drafting and negotiation; project management; quality assurance; software development; technical writing and copywriting.
With a background in business management and a track record in training for industry, Audrey has prepared and delivered courses to industries within both manufacturing and services sectors whom she works very closely. Within the start-up community, Audrey’s goal is supporting entrepreneurs realise their ideas into profitable business ventures with particular focus on advisory aspects. Her contribution is also extended to participation in start-up adjudication boards and mentoring students in business related projects. Following up on her research in women entrepreneurial characteristics in Malta, Audrey is always keen to support this growing community.
