Ahmed Village as he is known in Somalia is a British chef who owned and ran a prominent restaurant called the “The village” before returning to his roots. He established The village in Mogadishu at a time when the security situation in this city was unstable and he raised stakes for all other restaurants by offering food and catering at a class of its own. Both local and diaspora know about the Village. He has been the target of terrorist attacks on his restaurants on numerous occasions but has refused to turn his back and return to the UK instead staying resilient and showing other business owners that this country deserves a chance.
