Tim is a high-tech serial entrepreneur who has created several successful companies over the last 28 years, taking one of them public and selling four others to tech giants like Microsoft, Apple, and Dell. His expertise lies in consumer media products, storage technology, cloud services, and e-Commerce. Mr. Bucher may be the only person in history who has served in executive roles directly for Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Michael Dell learning how those leaders achieved product innovations and expanded their businesses.
Tim is currently the founder and CEO of Lyve Minds, Inc., a technology startup in Silicon Valley focused on helping consumers manage all of their digital life memories. He also was the founder of TastingRoom.com, an on-line e-commerce company leveraging new forms of sampling technology. Tim also founded and served as the CEO of ZING Systems, a company that developed mobile software for a range of handheld wireless media devices for such companies as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Yahoo!, and Sandisk. In 2007, ZING was bought by computer giant Dell, Inc. where Tim served as the Vice President of Software and Entertainment Content.
Tim holds over 30 patents in networking technology, computer and processor design, graphics technology, on-line customer acquisition algorithms, manufacturing processes, and multimedia technologies. He received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California at Davis and also received his Masters degree in Computer Architecture from Stanford. Tim serves on the Board of Trustees and the College of Engineering’s Executive Committee at the University of California at Davis. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University. Tim is also the Chairman of the GRAMMY Foundation for the Recording Academy in Santa Monica, California, helping to foster music education in the schools across the United States. In parallel with all of his technology endeavors, Tim has also cultivated a vineyard, winery, and olive business over the last 3 decades and serves as President of both Trattore Estate Wines and Dry Creek Olive Company in Sonoma County, California.
