Working in IT since 1997 with expertise in enterprise solutions, integration, automation tools, and performance improvement, Tulio Gonçalves quit his corporate IT job to become a full-time video game designer. In 2010 his video-game startup Watermelon Corp. launched Pier Solar and the Great Architects
as the first completely original title released for the Mega Drive/Sega Genesis in over a decade. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Pier Solar was released for Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux and Sega Dreamcast, and today is available on nearly every game platform including Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita. Gonçalves left Watermelon Corp. in June of this year to start his next venture, 2 Dream
, a video game company he plans to grow into a full-service game development firm located in Muscatine.
Gonçalves has worked on everything from ground up application development, maintenance to legacy apps, and multiple applications integration involving centralized and combined databases. From small companies to international corporations, he’s developed a flexibility to deal with the most diverse work environments.
Always interested in new technologies and looking for new challenges, and with upwards of 5 new game projects in the works, Tulio Gonçalves is looking forward to growing his next company to help turn Muscatine, Iowa into the “Mid-Coast” center for video gaming and tech startups.
