Dan founded IVHQ in 2007 after volunteering abroad and identifying a need to provide affordable, safe and responsible volunteer programs for international volunteers. Dan oversees the operations of IVHQ, managing all aspects of the organization and travelling regularly to visit IVHQ programs and local teams. In 2014, Dan was named EY New Zealand Entrepreneur of the Year, recognizing the impact International Volunteer HQ has made globally.
