As a University of Central Florida doctoral student in Industrial Engineering with an emphasis in ergonomics, Dr. Peter McAlindon developed the OrbiTouch Keyless Keyboard to help persons with injuries or disabilities type painlessly. It is currently the only ergonomic keyboard to use domes instead of keys to type and mouse. The orbiTouch has received numerous industry awards and the top honor for accessible technology at the Consumer Electronics Show. Through Blue Orb, Dr. McAlindon has successfully secured three rounds of funding from the National Science Foundation’s SBIR program and more than $5,000,000 in angel investor funding.
Peter McAlindon, Ph.D., is a 1989 MAS graduate of Embry-Riddle here in Daytona. He is a co-founder of venVelo, Florida's newest business accelerator and seed capital fund. He is also currently Entrepreneur in Residence at the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business.
