As the world's 3rd largest economy, Japan has long been known as an attractive, yet difficult market to enter. With recent record-high levels of global M&A by Japanese firms, increased government support for startups, and the rise of accelerators and corporate-startup engagement programs, there has never been a better time for startups to thrive here. But what is the best way, particularly for foreign startups, to approach it? Hiro Noguchi, Owner of GranBright Consulting, is an experienced IT/IoT business development agent in Japan, helping foreign tech companies explore the Japanese market. He has worked for both US & Japanese firms in the past, and now through his own consultancy, GranBright Consulting, provides diverse services to meet specific business needs, such as providing local market insight, introducing Japanese resellers, and language localization. Recently, he represented Miro AI, a US-based sportstech startup, as their Japan country manager, and took part in the Startupbootcamp Scale Osaka program helping to accelerate Miro AI's Japan market entry. We talk candidly with Hiro about his experience, the current opportunity for startups in Japan, and his tips & advice for startups to succeed here. This event will be held in English.
