About this event

One of our missions in Startup Grind is to #educate and #inspire our community by bringing to you influential founders.

For this event we’re excited to have Mark Burgess on the #SGOslo stage for a fireside chat.

Mark Burgess is a successful technologist, scientist, author, serial founder and advisor to public and private organizations globally - a hidden gem in the Norwegian ecosystem. Originally from the UK, he’s been living and working in Norway for almost 30 years.

Mark is known through his work as creator, main architect and principal founder of CFEngine the Norwegian tech company with users in 100+ countries (customers include IBM, eBay, Cisco, Qualcomm, AMD, US Navy, US Energy Department, NASA AT&T, Chevron and Linkedin). He has also created Promise Theory, the model behind CFEngine’s successful computer management software. Currently he is the founder of ChiTek-i focusing on conceptual innovation, and co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Aljabr Inc., a US based company. Mark holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from Newcastle University and he’s emeritus professor of Network and System Administration from Oslo Metropolitan University (previously Oslo University College - HiO). Last but not least, he’s a published author (check the long list of his scientific and fiction books on Amazon).

We will be also joined by Eirik Wahlstrøm, the visionary co-founder of Ludenso (ex MovieMask) -  the successful Norwegian startup that bridges the gap between the physical and digital world, by providing tools for thousands of developers through an open source platform for mobile AR. Eirik was the previous winner in Norway of Silicon Vikings Startup World Cup and participated in the global competition in Silicon Valley. We will be hearing from Eirik about his startup, Silicon Vikings and Startup World Cup experience.

Join us for an evening full of inspiring stories and insights in entrepreneurship and innovation.

And don’t forget that we love to mingle and network!
