Norwegian Fashion Startups: Design Driven and Sustainable

Tuesday, November 26, 2019, 5:30 – 7:30 PM UTC

We are excited to announce our next event, which will take a closer look at two of Oslo’s finest fashion startups: F5: a design driven, multibrand retail concept, focusing on Norwegian design and New Movements, a new kind of sneaker brand, which makes impactful leather sneakers.

About this event

  • What do you know about startups in the Norwegian fashion world?
  • And what about the fashion ecosystem here in Oslo?
  • Are new businesses in fashion trying to make a difference? If so, how?
  • Are you wondering what innovation will come from the fashion industry?

We are excited to announce our next event, which will take a closer look at two of Oslo’s finest fashion startups:

  • F5: a design driven, multibrand retail concept, focusing on Norwegian design, as well as a multidisciplinary design agency, focusing on fashion and interior.
  • New Movements: a new kind of sneaker brand, which makes impactful leather sneakers by using less energy and less virgin plastic. The company has also paired up with the plastic waste movement Empower to clean up ocean plastic.

Whether you are a lover of fashion, a design or fashion student, or simply curious to find out more about the fashion startup scene in Oslo, this event will give some great insights into the fashion ecosystem and the advantages and challenges of producing and selling high quality Norwegian designs.

Norwegian fashion startups: design driven and sustainable” is a site-specific event. This time we are leaving the comfort of the coworking space and will be hosting you on Tuesday, 26 November 2019 from 18.30-20.30 at F5 Concept Store in Prinsensgate 6, 0152 Oslo.

  • Alexander Krystad Marthinsen is one of three co-founders of F5, which he runs with his two brothers Emil and Benjamin. He has a broad background, ranging from pre med studies to working in a welding workshop, and has fashion experience from working the shop floors at Filippa K and Acne Studios. Currently he works full time with F5, as well as with interior design and production, and teaching at the School of Fashion Industry.
F5 is a design driven retail concept, focusing on Norwegian fashion. The F5 Concept Store in Prinsens gate 6 in Oslo stocks more than 20 different Norwegian brands and designers, and has become a shopping destination for visitors and locals alike.
  • Martin Evensen is the founder and CEO of New Movements. His background is in data, product development, and entrepreneurship. In 2019 DN named him one of the 30 under 30 in Norway and in one year he has launched two innovative sneaker collections made of circular materials with a full European value chain.
By cleaning up the ocean and rethinking ethical production, New Movements are dedicated to creating circular products that are made to last and leave no trace.
