Olwam Mnqwazi is the Founder and Managing Director of Black Hat Group where he applies all the 14 years’ worth of leadership experience. He is the author of "Writing the Way:Lessons and conversations I wish to have with you." He has held numerous leadership positions in the community, church and the university. Olwam will be sharing his leadership lessons and more at our fireside chat.

Fireside Chat with Olwam Mnqwazi - Writing The Way.

Olwam Mnqwazi, the Managing Director of the Black Hat Group, has launched his first book titled, ‘Writing the Way: Lessons & Conversations I wish to have with you. The launch was held on the 3rd of May 2019 in Nelson Mandela Bay where he currently resides with his family. Olwam has previously led a number of youth initiatives such as Fruits of Democracy, InkuluFreeHeid and South African Youth Council to name a few. In 2018, he was awarded the Top Achiever Award in the category of Special Sector for Youth Development by Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality. Olwam was one of the 2015 Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans. 

He has held numerous leadership positions

in the community, church and the university, which include:

 Fruits of Democracy, NPO (Co-Founder and Chairperson, 2015 - currently)

 Board Treasurer of Empilweni TB Hospital (2017 - currently)

 Columnist at The Insight Newspaper (2017- February 2019)

 Youth Development and Leadership Researcher at Centre for Integrated Post-School Education and Training

- CIPSET, NMMU (2012-2016)

 Convenor of South African Youth Council in Nelson Mandela Metro (Nov 2015-May2016)

 Director at InkuluFreeHeid - a non-partisan youth movement (2013-2015)

 LOC member of the National Youth Engagement (Conference of youth led organisations, 2013)

 Co-founder of Fundisa Primary Fund - raises resources and helps primary schools (2010)

 NMMU SRC Deputy President (2009)
