About this event

Tomas did his Ph.D in physics at the Charles University and then spent six years at universities in the U.S. He is now a head of the Department of Spintronics in the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences and a professor at the University of Nottingham in the UK. His research field is spintronics, namely magnetic memory chips. Recently his team has demonstrated a new principle of memories that can operate at THz speeds and open the possibility for constructing artificial neural networks. He is a scientific advisor of an engineering company IGS with products in vehicle detection and smart city applications which also serves as a platform for testing the new memory concepts in IoT.
