Jacob Korenblum – CEO and Co-Founder, Souktel Mobile Solutions

Based in Ramallah, Palestine, Jacob Korenblum is CEO and co-founder of Souktel, the Middle East's first venture that links communities with jobs and social services via mobile. Since its start in 2006, Souktel has grown into more than 20 regional markets across the Middle East and Africa, reaching over 300,000 mobile users. Souktel’s core investors include Sadara Ventures and the Sharakat Fund for Small & Medium Enterprises. 

Mr. Korenblum is a frequent speaker on technology and emerging markets; recent speaking engagements include the Harvard Business School Social Enterprise Conference and the MIT Legatum Conference on Entrepreneurship and Development. He has written articles on mobile technology, the Middle East, and social enterprise for MIT’s Innovations journal and CNBC Online, and is a recipient of a Silicon Valley Tech Award for Innovation. His work as a Souktel co-founder has been profiled by The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Forbes, and The Guardian, among other publications. A fluent Arabic speaker, Mr. Korenblum holds an Ed.M. from Harvard University, where he also served as a Harvard Reynolds Foundation Fellow in Social Enterprise.
