Thursday, October 4, 2018, 4:30 – 7:00 PM UTC

Come along on Thursday 4th October to hear how Kieran Aitken went from building his first business at the age of 16 to running one of the fastest growing social enterprises in the UK before his 22nd birthday. In Startup Grind University of Strathclyde's inaugural event, we're fortunate enough to chat with Kieran Aitken, Founder and 'Gaffer' of Orbit Enterprise Education Ltd.

About this event

Join us for Startup Grind University of Strathclyde's inaugural event with Kieran Aitken, Founder of Orbit Enterprise Education Ltd.

Founded in 2015, Orbit is a Social Enterprise on a mission to mould the UK’s emerging entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial talent. Their Accelerator Programme combines world class training with a unique culture, resulting in an atmosphere bursting with positive energy, creativity and ambition. To date, Orbit has supported hundreds of teenagers to launch their own business and secure jobs in an industry of their own choice. In 2018, Orbit announced its partnerships with Ernst & Young, RBS, NatWest, and The Prince’s Trust and aims to complete its expansion to 10 UK locations by late 2019.

Kieran started by selling “anything legal” in the playground, and built his first business at the age of 16.

At 17, Kieran hid behind Billionaire entrepreneur Sir Tom Hunter’s car and pitched the concept for Orbit to him in a car park.

By the time Kieran was 19 he had built relationships with some of the UK’s wealthiest individuals and political leaders, and leveraged these to further the aims of the business.

Attend on the 4th of October to hear more about how a bipolar, 21 year old university drop-out is challenging the status quo in both education and business.
