Mark Wilkinson was recently appointed The Data Lab Head of Business Development to help Scotland become a data nation. The Data Lab was set up by the Scottish Government in 2014 with the aim of unlocking an estimated £13 billion to the Scottish Economy. Mark's role is to "help us deliver our mission to maximise the value of data for Scotland and lead the world to a data-powered future'.

About this event

Mark Wilkinson was recently appointed The Data Lab Head of Business Development to help Scotland become a data nation. The Data Lab was set up by the Scottish Government in 2014 with the aim of unlocking an estimated £13 billion to the Scottish Economy.

Since then, The Data Lab has created over 1,500 network collaborations with private companies, public organisations and data experts and delivered on 104 projects, funded 665 AI/Data related masters in Scotland, estimated to have produced £590m worth of economic impact.

The Data Lab website highlights that Mark's role is to "help us deliver our mission to maximise the value of data for Scotland and lead the world to a data-powered future".

As such, Mark is focussing on Data Innovation, which will be vital to Scotland's strategic goal to become a data nation.
