About this event

If you thought hard candy was a thing of the past, Wesley Raley will make you think again. After dropping out of medical school, Wesley talked his way into a job as a candy maker apprentice. Eight years later and with invaluable experience under his belt, he realized a personal dream and opened Raley’s Confectionary in February of 2013.  Over the past year and a half he has been hard at work defining his brand, refining his process, and growing his company from one guy grinding away in a shared kitchen to a tidy little manufacturing operation churning out enough candy to supply all of the Whole Foods Markets in Florida, 60 boutique food stores in the US and Canada, thousands of online customers, and hundreds of private-label and custom candy orders from weddings to company logos.  Beyond just candy, Wes, is passionate about being a part of the collaborative small business culture of Tallahassee, and strives to pay forward all of the support, mentorship, and enthusiasm that helped him realize his entrepreneurial dream.
