Jasmine Anderson, a Miami, FL native, moved to Tallahassee in 2007. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management from Florida A&M University, she landed a job here in town at a State wide non-profit organization, BBAHEC. Jasmine enjoyed working in health education, tobacco cessation, and community outreach, but craved a more creative career. She started working on projects at home, like restoring thrifted chairs, tables or anything that she could find near her apartment complex. She’d use websites like Pinterest and Tumblr to gather as many ideas as she could. Luckily, her skills of craftsmanship led her to where she is today. Jasmine started Distressed By Jas, a company that sells custom made distressed jeans. All her Denim is authentic from quality name brands. She takes her time fine-tuning each rip, tare, and detail. Recently, Jasmine participated in TCC's Retail Pathways Incubator Program, where she won the competition and became the recipient of a small space in the TCC Capitol Center, Membership to the National Retail Federation, and $500 in Accounting Services with Carroll & Company.
