Gustaf Alströmer on Y Combinator, Growth & Teams

Thursday, September 21, 2017, 3:00 – 6:00 PM UTC

Present in 200 cities, Startup Grind is a Google powered million-strong community of entrepreneurs. It got there by organizing intimate, local events with a hundred attendees, one speaker, and a single host. Each event is an hour-long conversation. One that offers hands-on insight, personal stories, and a chance to ask questions from folks who have failed, and made it.

About this event

On the 21st of September at 6 pm at Lift99, Startup Grind Tallinn will host Gustaf Alströmer, Partner at Y Combinator.

Gustaf Alströmer spent 4.5 years at Airbnb where he worked as a Product Lead on the Growth team, a team he helped start in 2012. Prior to Airbnb, Gustaf was Head of Growth at Voxer, and before that, he was CEO & co-founder of Heysan, which was part of the YC W07 batch.

Now, as a partner at Y Combinator, Gustaf mentors incoming teams, and has access to thousands of applications, of which only a few hundred each year end up being accepted into YC. Gustaf is going to give a sneak peek at the insights drawn from all this data, both in terms of success and failure.

Gustaf will be interviewed by Gleb Maltsev of Fundwise, who will make sure to explore the details behind Airbnb's growth strategies, be it SEO, Virality, or Paid advertising as well as the core behind YC's hands-on investment approach, and what happens beyond office hours at the world's top startup school.

The event is about making friends, not contacts. For this reason, there will be plenty of wine, beer and food.

Agenda:

06:00 PM - Networking, food and drinks with the greatest community members

07:00 PM - Fireside Chat with Gustaf

08:00 PM - Networking

The event is supported by Euroopa Regionaalarengu Fond, Startup Estonia, SendGrid and their Startup Accelerate Program
