We will then hold a fireside chat with Dr. Shimrit Perkol-Finkel Co-Founder and CEO of ECOncrete®. Shimrit and her co-founding partner spent 20 years searching the right solution for the concrete problem, bridging development and sustainability by integrating environmentally sensitive technologies. Startup Grind’s Tel Aviv chapter showcases Israel’s capacity and leadership in creating positive impact, be it on people, or on the environment. Here’s all the goodness we’re planning for you:

• The program will start with a SG Talk by Gideon Soesman, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of GreenSoil Investments. With offices in Ra’anana (Israel) and Toronto (Canada), and ~ $100m under management, GreenSoil manages two VC funds: GreenSoil Agro & Food technologies and GreenSoil Building Innovations.

Prior to co-founding GreenSoil, Gideon founded and managed GMS Capital, a boutique investment bank, working with companies on their global business development and M&A strategy and execution.

Before GMS Capital, Gideon was Senior Director of Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions at Royal Philips Electronics. At Philips, he was responsible for all global merger and acquisition activities for a major division at Philips (deal value over $1.5b) and he managed all acquisitions, investments and business development activities for Philips in Israel.

Prior to Philips, Mr. Soesman held senior positions at Shaldor and Ergo and served as a Project Manager at MATI.

Gideon is a member of the boards of Directors at Tipa, CropX, ElectrIQ Power, Phenome Networks, BioHarvest and Rootility.

• We will then hold a fireside chat with Dr. Shimrit Perkol-Finkel, who is the Co-Founder and CEO of ECOncrete®. Dr. Shimrit Perkol-Finkel and Dr. Ido Sella, marine ecologists, experts in urban marine ecology and leaders in the growing field of ecological enhancement and green engineering technologies, founded ECOncrete® in 2012.

Dr. Shimrit Perkol-Finkel specializes in sustainable management of urban marine habitats and is considered an expert in ecological engineering and environmentally sensitive designs of man-made coastal and marine infrastructure. She has led several large-scale and long-term projects like the EU funded MarUrbe project in Italy, and a waterfront enhancement scheme in Brooklyn Bridge Park NY.
