Thursday, December 3, 2020, 6:00 – 8:00 PM UTC

To relaunch the Thames Valley Startup Grind Chapter, we invite Imran Dean, a portfolio investments manager for DC Thomson, a prominent family office. About this event

To relaunch the Thames Valley Startup Grind Chapter, we invite Imran Dean, a portfolio investments manager for DC Thomson, to discuss how family offices approach investing into startups.

Imran has a wealth of experience in the investment industry in both the public markets and more recently in the private markets in particular venture capital. Over the last 4 years at DC Thomson, one the UK's largest private-owned media groups run by the Thomson Family, he has co-led investments into the edtech, fintech, retail technology and more recently agtech and the circular economy verticals.

He has sat on the board of companies and gone through many investment pitch decks and worked closely with entrepreneurs on their business plans. He provides great insights into the world of family office investing.

We will cover topics such as what makes a good pitch deck; the mind of an investor; Family Office vs VC; also touching on the valuation of your company.
