Giuseppe Andreoni, currently Full Professor at Politecnico di Milano, will be host in our next live-streaming event, in which he will talk about the design and production of wearable biosignals monitoring devices for medical, sport and fitness applications.
His research activity conducted at Politecnico di Milano mainly consists of the design of products, systems, environments and services for the health and well-being of people using Co-Design and User-Centred Design methods combined with Ergonomics. These methodological references allow the synergy between design and technology that are combined in innovative solutions from the technological point of view, of high affordance for the user and of considerable impact for the system where they are implemented.
The main applications are health and medical devices both for monitoring and as assistive technologies for disability, sport and fitness, home and home automation with advanced IoT solutions.
He has developed extensive multidisciplinary skills that integrate in his didactic and scientific path: design, biomedical technologies, ergonomics and the study of physical interaction between man, machine and environment, digital human modelling.

Giuseppe Andreoni is currently Full Professor at the Department of Design of Politecnico di Milano where he is also the Director of the Laboratory “Technology and Design for Healthcare”. He is the Responsible of the Sensibilab Research Laboratory (Biomedical Sensors and Systems) and of the LyPhE Research Laboratory), now both integrated in the TeDH Research Laboratory of the same Department.
Giuseppe Andreoni received the Laurea Degree in Electronic Engineering in 1993 and the PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 1998 at the Politecnico di Milano, where he is full professor at the Industrial Design Faculty and Department.
At the moment he is director on the Campus Point, and at the same time he is the coordinator of the Sensibilab (Biomedical Sensors and Systems Lab.) and of the LyPhE (Laboratory of Physical Ergonomics) at the INDACO (Industrial Design, Art, Communication and fashion) Dept. of the Politecnico di Milano.
He gained experience in the field of the biomedical and communication technologies applied to medicine and rehabilitation, and ergonomics with specific attention to the User-Centred-Design and Design-for-All philosophies. In particular, he is an expert in transducers and optoelectronic systems for motion analysis, in biosignal recording and processing, in the development of experimental models and procedures for data analysis (algorithms and new methodologies for data interpretation).
His main research topics are: ergonomics, wearable sensors, rehabilitation and assistive technology.
He is co-author of 5 national/international patents and more than 100 publications (books, chapters, papers and proceedings in international conferences).
In 2006 he founded SXT, a spin off company of Politecnico di Milano whose core business is the design and production of wearable biosignals monitoring devices for medical, sport and fitness applications.
