Startup Grind UCT is hosting the very first in-person Panel Discussion Event at the University of Cape Town! We are hosting Carly Barnes, the Head of Brand and Relationship Management at EasyEquities and Rupert Finnemore, the CEO of EasyProperties. Join us as we seek to uncover the Essential Financial Decisions Startups and Students can make to ensure personal and financial growth. 

Carly Barnes is the Head of Brand and Relationship Management at EasyEquities, a subsidiary of JSE listed Purple Group Limited (PPE), which is an online platform that allows anyone to buy shares in the brands and companies they love. EasyEquities has several innovation and business awards from Business Day, Accenture, Startup Grind and FinTech Africa. They are also the top Tax-Free Savings provider by Financial Mail & Intellidex – since the inception of the Tax-Free Savings Account by government. Carly, an AFDA BA Honours Degree in Live Performance graduate has previously worked as Customer Relationship Marketing Specialist at Lulalend before becoming the Head of Brand at EasyEquities.

Rupert Finnemore is the CEO of EasyProperties, which comprises of founders, partners, staff, and leaders in FinTech and real estate development aiming to deliver a PropTech platform that serves to democratise property investing. EasyProperties is passionate about changing the traditional belief that investing in property is hard, by disrupting and removing the barriers of entry into the market. Rupert is a Saïd Business School, University of Oxford graduate and obtained his Fintech and Proptech certification in 2018.
