Talk to anyone in Indonesia, mention Yogyakarta, and they will smile wide, let out a warm sigh, and say, “Ah, Jogja…”
It seems to hold a special place in anyone’s heart who comes here. And as one the fastest growing economic zones of Indonesia, boasting over 100 universities, it is a magnet for bright, ambitious, and talented younger folk.
A high quality of life, plus a low cost of living, is currently transforming Jogja into the “Silcon Valley of Indonesia,” attracting fast-growth startups and purpose-driven entrepreneurs from all over SEA to base their operations here.
In addition to featuring local influencers and hot changemakers, it made equal sense to us to occasionally invite an outside perspective into Startup Grind Yogyakarta. So, for our first official international event, we’re really stoked that Austrian celebrity and Millennial phenom Pamela Wagner will join us.
Pamela left Google a few years ago to create Ajala Digital, a tech-savvy digital marketing agency specialising in highly profitable advertising campaigns. In addition to creating record results for over 100 companies, Pam picked up a few prestigious awards along the way, getting honored on the coveted “Forbes 30 Under 30” list.
Though being a tech expert certainly helped, she ultimately credits her success to an almost obsessive devotion to personal development, which has included anything from online programs, attending conferences, or simply connecting with extraordinary human beings willing to share their secrets to living a good life.
Pamela will be interviewed by Jason Canniff, American social entrepreneur and a Lead Mentor for the Entrepreneurs Institute and GeniusU, based in Singapore. They’ll discuss how Indonesian millennials can use the power of personal development and networking to achieve global success and make an impact.
Startup Grind Fireside Chat brings together the brightest minds of the digital space and includes networking, interviews, Q&A sessions and more networking afterwards. Startup Grind is a global platform, with chapters in over 250 cities, 100 countries, and a community of more than 1,000,000 entrepreneurs worldwide.
The event is free, but space is limited. A complimentary beverage and snack will be provided to ticket holders. It will be held, from 6pm to 9pm, at the Antologi Collaboractive Space, in Sleman. The fireside chat will run from 7pm to 8pm, with guests encouraged to come early and stay late for networking opportunities.
Pamela is the Founder and CEO of Ajala Digitial, an Austrian-based marketing agency specialising in PPC advertising. The recipient of numerous awards, including the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, Pamela brings a unique combination and technical expertise and "growth mindset" strategies to her companies, clients, and growing network.
