Events Internship

Startup Grind is looking to onboard a talented individual to support the event marketing team. You will work most immediately on Startup Grind’s upcoming flagship Global Conference - taking place in February in Redwood City. The role will encompass administrative needs as well as important projects, where you will learn a lot and take on a lot of responsibility. In this role, you will play a big part in bringing together thousands of founders that will go on to build some of the best businesses in the world. 

More about the role - You'll learn and get hands-on experience in event production and marketing in an early stage startup. You'll be helping most closely with:

  • Event-related logistics from planning to execution on-site (Global Conference + monthly local events) 
  • Help with coordinating and organizing speakers, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and students
  • Support ticket sales and ticket allocation, with a focus on our non-profit, diversity, and university partners
  • Assist with marketing strategy, helping to hit team goals  
  • Be willing to take on any task that is assigned to you.  We are a startup! Everyone wears many hats and pitches in where it’s needed. It’s what makes us such a good team :) 

About You - We know that many different types of people could succeed in this role, but if you can relate to the majority of the below characteristics / skills, then we would love to speak with you:

  • You’re interested in the startup world 
  • You like taking initiative and owning a project
  • You’re highly organized with acute attention to detail 
  • You’re a very fast learner and can multitask
  • You have strong communication skills and are professional 
  • You think on your feet, and are effective in high-stress situations (#startuplife #eventslife!) 
  • You may not have direct events experience, but you would consider yourself someone with strong instinct

Requirements

  • You are based in San Francisco, California or can work with our team in FiDi 3 days per week
  • You are able to intern at minimum 24 hours per week (3 x 8hr days)
  • You can commit to be working with us on-site at the Conference (Feb. 10-12) *overtime hours will be compensated accordingly 
  • Internship should last at minimum 6 months, from September 2019 - March 2020 (but can start earlier if desired)

Compensation

  • $15 per hour (overtime for any event related activities)
