About Me

Phin Mpofu is globally connected entrepreneurship evangelist, inspired by how it can be used as a force for good. With experience in both residential real estate and technology, Phin founded HOMESPLACE, a venture working on helping tenants become property owners by developing a hybrid mortgage product that uses 50% of a traditional mortgage with the balance crowd funded.

In 2014 Phin brought the Startup Grind brand to Scotland with the establishment of the Edinburgh Chapter. This was quickly followed by expansion into Glasgow and Aberdeen. 2017 will see Phin relocate back to England and launch the Startup Grind Thames Valley Chapter.

Phin is also Founding Curator for the Global Shapers Edinburgh Hub. The Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum and is a network of Hubs developed and led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities.

Most recently, Phin co-founded Tech Beach Retreat, an annual gathering of 250 tech influencers held in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

His commitment to helping founders was recognised in 2016 by the Centre for Entrepreneurs. He was listed on The Maserati 100, the annual list which recognises entrepreneurs who are generously giving their time and resources to support the next generation of young entrepreneurs. He is also a Fellow of the Centre for Entrepreneurs.
