Joe Famalette has immersed himself into the entrepreneurial world from a young age. Joe is the founder and CEO of Bloon Studios, a company dedicated to helping online store owners, entertainers and businesses build their audience and customer base using social media marketing technology. Joe's team consists of software engineers working at Microsoft and a number of in-house marketing experts. Bloon Studios' clientele is spread throughout the world spanning a wide-range of industries. Driven and determined, Joe fought through the challenges that every new business leader faces when they set out to change the world. His journey led him to re-launch Startup Grind's Minneapolis chapter where he operated as the Director from March 2014 to August 2014. Now, Joe looks forward to bringing Startup Grind back to Los Angeles and it's booming community of entrepreneurs.

3 Things I Learned From Gary Vaynerchuk

Two weeks ago I had the privilege of interviewing serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and 3 time NY Times best-selling author Gary Vaynerchuk in front of a sold out crowd in Santa Monica at Startup Grind LA. For those of you who don’t know, Gary is one of the most well-known entrepreneurs of our time. He began his career by growing his family’s wine business from $3 to $60 million, co-founded one of the hottest ad agencies in VaynerMedia which is now worth over $65 million and growing, angel invested in some of the world’s best companies (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Tumblr, and many more,) and wrote 3 NY Times best-selling books. He is a true hustler and practioner of what he preaches. Gary is one of the only entrepreneurs with an actual fan base so I knew I had to really deliver for this interview to be special.

Nate Abbott's Journey to MapQuest

Startup Grind Minneapolis enjoyed a fantastic evening with Nate Abbott on April 29th.  The night kicked off with an hour of networking and pizza, followed by a fireside chat about Nate’s career as a startup founder and executive at MapQuest.  Nate was returning back to his alma mater and the event’s venue, Macalester College, from which he graduated in 2005.
