Rick Gibson is a software engineer and technology mentor based in Santa Monica, CA. After attending his first Hackathon with AngelHacks in 2013, he saw the possibilities of what can be created in a short period of time by teams collaborating and sharing their skills. Deciding to share his gifts in the emerging tech community in Los Angeles, he learned Web Development in General Assembly’s WDI (Immersive) program, worked at a startup software development agency, then at Pivotal Labs where he studied their AgileXP process. Today, Rick works as a mentor to students who are on the path to becoming the developers of tomorrow, and as a freelance developer and technology coach. He is involved in the local startup ecosystem and continues to help connect individuals who want to build something together.
