·3 weeks agoThe problem isn't necessarily that a first-time founder lacks fundraising experience. The harder problem is that investors usually need evidence that someone else has already absorbed part of the uncertainty.
I've been experimenting with moving part of that validation before the company exists—using narrative and open commercial ecosystems to test assumptions, attract independent participants, and generate market signals before committing significant capital.
This doesn't replace operational validation, and it works much better for open ecosystems than for closed businesses where the core commercial path itself must remain undisclosed.
Open ecosystem → distributed adoption → monetize strategic nodes

·3 weeks agoAnthony is right. You do not need years of fundraising experience. You do need to know your business, your numbers, and what the money helps you prove next. Be honest about what you know and what you are still learning. That's what builds trust.

·1 month agoI’ve raised money before, and in my experience investors care much more about whether you understand the business than whether you’ve done three startups already.
What helped most was going into meetings with real numbers and being very clear about what was working, what wasn’t, and what the money would actually change.
A few investors we spoke to early weren’t interested at first, but after seeing consistent progress over several months, the things changed completely.
