When Andy Nielsen was younger, he didn't exactly imagine himself as a CEO of a successful and rapidly growing online estate sale business. Just ask him about his trips to antique malls with his mom and brother! But that's exactly where he is today – and he’s loving every minute of it. He has been at the helm of Everything But the House - a company that's taking the thrill of discovery often experienced at a flea market or estate sale and moving that experience online, without the crowds and early morning wake-up calls- since 2012. He's working alongside his brother (who enjoyed those trips to the antique malls) and an energetic and enthusiastic group of partners.
Andy's drive, dedication to innovation and willingness to take risks has taken EBTH to the next level, growing the company from $4.8 million in sales and a staff of 32 in 2011 to a projected $14 million in sales and a team of 150 in 2014. He believes a strong company culture dedicated to innovation is the key to success—and is committed to building that culture at EBTH with people who share his love for the service.
Andy had been searching for a new business venture with his brother, father and business partner when he first heard of Everything But the House. To hear him tell it, he immediately knew it was the partnership for them. The passion of the founders, Jacquie Denny and Brian Graves, spoke to him, and he could see an opportunity to help them broaden their reach and become a more sophisticated online retail platform.
Headquartered in Cincinnati, Everything But the House (EBTH) is a revolutionary online estate and consignment sale company that combines the personal touch of a local business with the convenience and reach of a global e-commerce company. EBTH presents sales based out of Cincinnati, Columbus, Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis and Nashville, and is rapidly expanding to additional cities in 2015. The EBTH team hopes to become the world’s most-loved, most exciting resource to find special antique and modern pieces. With 50-60 sales a month and all items starting at $1, bidders from across the world find that there’s always something new to discover at www.EBTH.com.
