Latin America startups invaded Silicon Valley!

A bunch of startups accelerated by the Latin American startups, NXTP Labs and 21212, traveled to Silicon Valley to participate at the Demo Day “Latin America invades Silicon Valley”, the September 6th at the offices of Microsoft  Mountain View offices. It was the first DemoDay of its kind showcasing the best tech startups from the region presenting to an audience of top Silicon Valley investors and VCs from Sequoia Capital, Accell Partners and Emergence Capital among others.

The Latin American tech market has increasingly become a market of interest with reports of Sequoia reportedly looking to expand to Brazil, Alta Ventures’ $70 Million fund to invest in Mexican technology startups and most recently, the acquisition of Mexican startup accelerator Mexican.VC by Dave McClure’s 500 Startups.

“Demo Days like this are important to bridging the Latin American and Silicon Valley tech hubs,” explained Gonzalo Costa, co-founder of NXTP Labs. “We are introducing some high profile startups with global potential. We want to show the strength and execution abilities of Latin American startups to the investor community,” adds.

"21212 and NXTP are the top incubators in South America. Any investor interested in the region should attend their Silicon Valley demo day,” explained Ariel Poler, Chief Angel of Best of Angel, adding, "I've been impressed by the teams at 21212 and NXTP. Their Silicon Valley demo day is very worthwhile."

Among the presenting startups will be The Social Radio, recent winner of Startup World Buenos Aires and Argentina’s edition of App Circus, and Kinetik, Startup Battle contender at The Next Web’s Latin America Conference.

Besides participating at the NXTP Labs and 21212 Demo Day, some invading startups were connected to other entrepreneurial entities in Latin America, like The Social RadioComenta.TV y WeHostels to the Chilean government program, Startup Chile, and also FanwardsThe Fan Machine y Broadcast.mobi to the Silicon Valley Mission, from the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.
