Madison to host winner of Steve Case's Rise of the Rest pitch competition - Liz Eversoll

Madison, WI -- Startup Grind Madison will be hosting Liz Eversoll – CEO of SOLOMO and winner of Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest pitch competition – on Monday January 26th at 100State coworking space. Come hear about SOLOMO Technologies and how they’re creating ‘Smart locations’, pairing smartphone analytics with physical locations to make us rethink how we analyze our physical surroundings and interactions.

Liz Eversoll is an IT industry veteran, with over 20 years of experience in running businesses big and small. After graduating from the University of Houston and working as a software developer she launched a consultancy implementing large-scale, multi-million dollar infrastructure projects which she later sold. Taking the reins as Vice President of Burbee, a regional seller of computer components and software solutions, Eversoll led their group to be among the handful to achieve worldwide top partner designations with Microsoft, IBM, and Cisco and was named Microsoft’s Worldwide Infrastructure Partner of the Year. Building on her career at Berbee, now CDW, she advanced to Vice President of their Software Sales & Solutions business where she led the company to record results, outpacing the channel in every segment, and awarded Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner of the Year again. However, seeing a disturbance in the market for components, combined with a significant rise in smart mobile technologies, she left her post at CDW to start SOLOMO Technology.

Nearly 85% of all American adults have a smartphone – that statement was unfathomable a decade ago when flip phones were in and the Motorola Razr hadn’t hit the market. As head of a computer components reseller Eversoll saw unique trends converging – hardware component costs dropping fast, increasing social media and connectedness, and smartphone use becoming the norm. She saw an opportunity for a platform as a service to provide location and identity services to brands. With this platform, brands can track and analyze consumer device behaviors, embed services in mobile applications to engage with consumer and employees based on location or identify and create complex business applications that enable the exchange of location and identity information for brand value.

Enjoy a night of socializing with Madison’s entrepreneurial community and learn how technological trends in smart and mobile computing will change how we experience many physical locations. Our meetup starts at 6pm with networking and Ian’s, followed by a fireside chat with Liz Eversoll at 7. Come join us!
